About WSC
FOUNDER: COLIN "WHIPPY" DIXON
After more than 20 years in windsurfing, enjoying all the different disciplines; competing at the highest level in freestyle, wave and slalom, and over 15 years of coaching, Colin ‘Whippy’ Dixon started WindsurfCoaching in 2012 to share his knowledge of the sport and his unique delivery in amazing destinations and conditions all over the World.
Colin has spent years travelling and windsurfing in different spots around the World and hand picked the best destinations for his clinics. Each clinic has been selected to offer as close to perfect conditions as possible for the students and has been researched and sailed to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the area and how you can, like the locals, get the most from that destination, such as the best places to launch and the best bar for a sunset beer!
Each clinic also offers something a little different, whether you are just starting out in the waves and want to get comfortable launching and landing right up to getting some nice jumps and improving your wave sailing in El Medano, Tenerife, or you want out and out down the line wave rides in Baja, Mexico or you are keen to have a go or improve your freeride or freestyle in Sardinia, there’s a clinic to suit everyone, check out all the spots here.
Colin is the embodiment of Windsurf Coaching but during some clinics he is also joined by additional coaches who bring another dimension to course, such as Ben Proffitt in Cape Town, or Luke Baillie in Tenerife and Ireland.
WSC has also launched two new specialist clinics in El Medano. For one week he will be joined by Lizzie Baillie for a Water Women clinic and Luke Baillie will run a Next Generation, Under 17s camp.
Windsurf Coaching takes instruction to a new technical level, with the use of video and drone filming sessions, and instant feedback helmets, offering the best possible insight in to your sailing and how we can help it improve.
Windsurf Coaching is more than just telling you where to place your hands and feet to gybe, it’s about giving you confidence and being part of a group that is building each up and spurring each other on, on and off the water. The Windsurf Coaching ethos is to push yourself, believe in yourself and enjoy every moment on the water.
So come and join Colin and the Team for a week of windsurfing you’ll never forget.
