BRANDON BAY,
IRELAND
"MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS I'M KNACKERED AND I WANT MORE"

Date: 28 SEPT - 3 OCT 2025
05 - 10 OCT 2025
The Place: We will be based at Jamie Knox Watersports in Brandon Bay, a World-renowned windsurfing destination. With amazing conditions to learn and hone your wave sailing skills, with easy friendly wave riding and miles of sandy beach (so you can't end up on any rocks), the magnificent backdrop of Mount Brandon and inimitable Irish hosting this the perfect spot for our wave clinic. The size and layout of the Bay means that it works in almost any wind direction, meaning lots of on water action. If we have days without wind, the conditions are also ideal for SUPing and surfing, yet another great way to improve those wave riding skills for when the wind shows up again.
Coaching: Coaching runs Sunday – Friday, with change over day on Saturday at a cost of 600€. We will be covering basic wave sailing techniques to help you launch and recover your kit right up to nailing those top and bottom turns and hopefully landing some forward and back loops.
level: Intro to waves (we ask that you are able to sail a wave board, be comfortable in the harness and footstraps and waterstart)
conditions: Conditions here can be so different. Last year we experienced massive waves and great wave riding some days at some spots and smaller waves with perfect jumping conditions on others. Usually you can expect waves logo high and bigger and strong wind.
Travel: As there are lots of different spots to sail in varying wind directions and swell it is essential that you have a vehicle to get yourself and your kit to the beach each day. You can either drive and take the ferry or hire a car from the airport.

flying: The closest airport to Brandon Bay is Kerry, it is around a 50 minute drive to Brandon Bay. Ryanair flies direct from Luton Airport from around £50 return. Cork and Shannon airports are also doable and you can fly direct with Ryanair from most UK airports but the transfer is around 2.5 to 3 hours from either.

ferry: The best route is from West Wales to Rosslare. From Rosslare it is around a 5 hour drive to the Dingle peninsula.
accommodation: This year we will be staying either at The Lodge, a large house run by Jamie Knox's son. Each double room comes with a private bathroom and then there are large shared living spaces.
Alternatively Brandon has a lovely selection of cottages all within view and walking distance of the bay (and pub!) and most sleep 4 – 6 persons.
For options an prices please contact us.
kit hire: €240 NB the centre has limited equipment so although some is available we do advise bringing your own if possible.

Insurance: Insurance: We recommend VDWS insurance for all of our clinics, they charge an annul premium of 39 Euro and cover you worldwide for windsurfing and other sports and are totally worth it! Click here for more....
